About

Hello, welcome to gadjetspace.com. My name is Gajendra Ratnam. I am a freelance computer ‘Jack of all trades’ kind of person. At the moment I am working on programming projects to support myself and my family.

I have been in the computer industry for more than 20 years. I started with Video Games in the early 80’s when my dad bought an Atari game console. He got it in the USA when he went for a trip there. When he brought it back to Malaysia, I had a small problem, the TV system is Malaysia is PAL and the game console was an NTSC model. Anyway I battled on with black and white graphics and no sound.

I graduated from there to a colour game console from VTECH of Hong Kong. This was a fantastic little machine. It has a BASIC computer language cartridge which you can use to program. It also had an attachable tape player to save the programs.

The came my Apple II compatible CAT computer from Dick Smith Electronics. This was soon superseded by the great Commodre Amiga 1000. A fantastic machine with unequalled sound and graphics at that time. At the age of 19, I wrote my own software to look after some inventory and accounts. It was good fun.

Now after I have gotten married and have had two kids, I have taken my job more seriously and have used the computer to generate income for myself and my family. I hope others can learn from some of my ideas so you also can work from home and earn a living.

Thank you for your visit.
